Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto is the first women elected Prime Minister in the Muslim World. Educated at Harvard where from she graduated in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and applied all her wisdom to steer the nation towards liberal, political and financial reforms after the long dictatorship which had lead the country into turmoil.
She served as Prime Minister of Pakistan for two terms in 1988 and 1993. In 2007 she returned from her exile to once again save Pakistan from the political and socio-religious turmoil despite threats to her life. On 27 Dec 2007 she was martyred for her cause of restoration of democracy and was declared as the "Martyr of Democracy" by Pakistani nation.

Bilquis Bano Edhi Hilal-e-Imtiaz: wife of Abdul Sattar Edhi, is a professional nurse and one of the most active philanthropists in Pakistan. Born in 1947 in Karachi she heads the Bilquis Edhi Foundation, and with her husband received the 1986 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Services. Her charity runs many services in Pakistan including a hospital and emergency service in Karachi. Together with her husband their charity has saved over 16,000 unwanted babies. Because of invaluable services she has been nicknamed, "The Mother of Pakistan".

Justice (Retd) Nasira Javaid Iqbal is soft spoken, humble lady with a graceful personality. She is an erudite and a scholastic legend that belongs to a family of literary giants. She was born in Lahore on 21st November, 1940, received her education from Queen Mary college and was married to Dr. Javed Iqbal, son of The great Allama Iqbal. She has served as Judge Lahore High Court and has had the honour of being the Member of Pakistan's Delegation Human Rights Commission, Geneva; Member Supreme Court Bar Association and Member Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.

Quatrina Hosain entered the world of journalism in 1987 after graduating from Mount Holyoke College in the United States. After working for Third World magazine, Ms Hosain joined Dawn group and later became a member of the team that launched The News in 1991 as the newspaper's foreign editor. Later, Ms Hosain became the Editor of The News. She started working for television in 1992, doing weekly programs for Pakistan Television on politics and current affairs. Today, Quatrina Hosain is a member of the team that launched Express News. After hosting a talk show -- Siyasi Log -- for Express News for more than two years, she now hosts an English talk show called Witness with Quatrina on Express 24/7.
Captain Ayesha Rabia Naveed
Capt. Ayesha Rabia Naveed (Commercial Pilot) is receiving "1st Wonder Women of the Year Awards 2011"
Captain Ayesha Rabia Naveed: Born on 27th February, 1957 and passed her early childhood in Multan and later in Lahore. She was a committed lady for flying profession and made her solo flight at Lahore flying club in the age of 17 years. Later she got her commercial pilot license in 1977 and joined PIA as cadet pilot in 1989. Captain Ayesha Rabia became the first lady captain of a commercial airline of Pakistan when she did her first flight as a full fledged captain of Pakistan international airlines on 21st October 2005. On February 10, 2008, she achieved another milestone and historic first in Pakistan's civil aviation history when she became first Pakistani woman to command scheduled passenger flight PK-340 & PK-341 of a PIA jetliner - a Boeing 737-300 - on Karachi-Faisalabad-Karachi route.

Her radio and television plays have earned international repute. Her fame started laying its foundation when she regularly wrote some memorable plays for Radio Pakistan Karachi's all time popular "Studio Number NAU". With her incomparable command of Urdu, she harvests the subtlety, flexibility and expressiveness of this colourful language to the full, dazzling her listeners. Professor Anita Ghulam Ali

Professor Anita Ghulam Ali started her career in 1961 as a lecturer in Microbiology at the S.M. Science College, Karachi. She has since been appointed Minister for Education, Culture, Science, Technology, Youth and Sports twice, once in October 1996 and then again in November 1999. Since the beginning of her commitment to education, Professor Anita has represented the Province of Sindh and the country at various national and international forums on education and development. These includes the World UN Conference at Copenhagen, National Muslim Women's Conference at Islamabad, and the SAARC Conference on “Education” in the Underserved Areas at Bhutan, World Education Conference at Dakar, Senegal and World Conference on Education For All at Jomtien, Thailand. Prof. Anita Ghulam Ali is also the recipient of the Sitara-e-Imtiaz award for her lifetime contribution towards educational and community development issues of the country. Professor Anita Ghulam Ali is an expert in her field and has devoted her life to the cause of bringing about a change in education in Sindh. She has won several accolades from various educational councils and committees and cultural institutions. On the 4th of October, 1992, Professor Anita Ghulam Ali, a renowned educationist of Pakistan was appointed the first Managing Director of the Sindh Education Foundation - a position which she retains till to date.

Noor Jehan was born in Kasur, Punjab, British India and was one of the eleven children of professional musicians Madad Ali and Fateh Bibi. Wasai began to sing at the age of five or six years old and showed a keen interest in a range of styles, including traditional folk and popular theatre. Noor jehan was the adopted stage name for Allah Wasai (September 21, 1926 – December 23, 2000) who was a legendary singer and actress in British India and Pakistan. Her career spanned over seven decades. She was renowned as one of the greatest and most influential singers of her time in South Asia and was given the honorific title of Malika-e-Tarannum, The melody queen. On Saturday afternoon, December 23, 2000, Noor Jehan breathed her last, as a result of heart failure.

Yasmeen Lari is the first woman architect of Pakistan. After initial schooling at Queen Mary’s, Adbistan-e-Soofia and Kinnaird College, Lahore, Pakistan, she graduated from Oxford School of Architecture (now Oxford Brookes University), U.K. in 1963 and was elected Member of Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in 1969. As UNESCO's National Advisor (2003-2005) she led the team that saved the endangered Shish Mahal ceiling in the Shah Burj (the Royal Tower) of the Lahore Fort World Heritage site. In 2006, in recognition of her services to the architectural profession and heritage conservation, she was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz, one of the highest civil awards, by Government of Pakistan. She is the author and co-author of several books. Her most recent book published in July 2008 is a coffee-table book on the historic Governor House, Lahore.
Ms Akram Khatoon

Miss Akram Khatoon was born in India on 26 September 1937 and migrated to Pakistan when she was only ten years old. She completed her education at Lahore and started her career as lecturer in Government College Sukker. Later she joined State Bank training for banking and chose MCB to start her banking career. She was appointed first lady manager in first ladies branch of MCB in 1962. Thereafter she progressed to the senior and in 1989 when the Federal Govt. decided to setup First Women Bank her services were acquired on deputation and she was appointed as the President of First Women Bank where she worked for almost 11.5 years. At present she is member of Board of Directors of first microfinance bank which is launched by Aga Khan Foundation and ISE.
Ms Nasreen Jalil

Miss Nasreen Jalil born on 22 February, 1947 in Lahore where her father was Deputy Commissioner of Lahore at the time of Partition. She completed her primary education at Lahore, secondary/college and university education at Karachi. She learned to fly at Aero Club and got her Commercial Pilot License in 1966. She was an instructor of flying at Hong Kong Aero Club. She has also worked for "Bahboud", a welfare organization in Karachi, since 1970. Nasreen Jalil was elected to the senate of Pakistan in March 1994 for a six-year term. On Jan 2006 she became “Naib Nazim” of Karachi, during the swearing in ceremony Jalil pledged that underdeveloped areas of the city would be developed and also that women's rights would be safeguarded.
Ms Shafqat Sultana

Miss Shafqat Sultana Having done her Masters in Political Science from the University of Peshawar, Shafqat Sultana started her banking career as an officer at United Bank Ltd. in 1975. She was designated the first Lady Manager at PC branch Rawalpindi in 1988. She joined First Women Bank Ltd in 1990 as a Branch Manager in AVP cadre, and was awarded the best Branch Manager award for two consecutive years. Besides this, she used her expertise in training & development of women entrepreneurs and served as the National Project Director-Women in Urban Credit, a joint project of UNDP and FWBL. She was eventually promoted to the rank of EVP in 2002 and then President of the Bank. Mrs. Shafqat has been the recipient of Best Sector Executive Award, Excellence Award from Laurels of honor 2009, Woman of the year Award – 2009, Lifetime Achievement Award – 2010 and Wonder Woman of the year Award 2011 etc. She also holds to her credit many publications as well. Recently Newsweek Pakistan included her name in the list of top 100 women who shake Pakistan .
Ms Razia Fareed

Miss Razia Fareed is working with Jang Group since four decades. She is a veteran journalist and has taken interviews from most of the historic personalities of Pakistan. Because of her immense contributions on women’s subject she was awarded Pakistan PRESS Foundation award writing best articles on Gender Sensitivity. Recently she has won the best investigative reporting award of 20th APNS Journalist Awards for the period 2009-2010.
